The Ammonite is a well-known fossil with a characteristic spiral-form shell. These creatures lived in the seas millions of years ago and became extinct at the same time as the dinosaurs. The name 'ammonite' comes from the Greek god Ammon, known for his ram-shaped horns. Ammonites are part of a group of predators called cephalopods, which also includes octopuses, squids, cuttlefish, and nautiluses.
Ammonites are a prime example of the Fibonacci Sequence which is a repeating mathematical equation found throughout nature. We have the fibonacci sequence in our logo!
